Step by step
- 01
Get your unit's list
The Army cut mandatory training in 2025 and made some items the commander's choice. Ask your training NCO what your unit still requires.
- 02
Know the new system names
ALMS is now ATIS Learning, and DTMS is now ATIS Training. Old bookmarks may not work.
- 03
Use public sites when you can
The SHARP Learning Portal needs no login, so it works on any device.
- 04
Do CAC courses at home
Set up your CAC reader at home. Azure Virtual Desktop is another way in from a personal computer.
- 05
Save every certificate
Download a PDF of each completion certificate. Records did not always carry over when systems changed.
- 06
Make sure it posted
Check that the course shows in ATIS Training, or give the PDF to your training NCO.
- 07
Ask about EBDL pay
Approved online courses (EBDL) can earn pay or points in 8-hour blocks. Confirm the course is on the approved list before you start.
Work done in pieces under 8 hours, or on courses not on the list, earns no pay or points.
Why it gets kicked back
- ! Training not on the EBDL list earns no pay or points.
- ! EBDL work does not count while you are already in a paid duty status.
- ! There is no repayment for using your own computer or internet.
- ! DLC is gone. It was dropped in May 2024.
- ! Network access needs Cyber Awareness and the Army user agreement done and current.
