IPPS-A & records
Submit and track a PAR in IPPS-A
You file a Personnel Action Request in IPPS-A and follow it to approval.
Walkthrough video in production
Real screen, real clicks, fake Soldier. Until it is up, the written steps below are the walkthrough.
- Script
- Voice
- Real-screen capture
- Published
Filmed on the live system with a CAC, every name and number swapped for a test Soldier before recording.
Step by step
- 01
Log in
Go to IPPS-A self-service (my.ippsa.army.mil) and log in with myAuth. Chrome works best.
- 02
Review your record
Read your record brief first. Write down anything missing or wrong.
- 03
Start the PAR
Create the Personnel Action Request that fits, such as leave, an absence, retirement points or a name change.
- 04
Attach proof
Most fixes need source documents. Attach a clear PDF of each one.
- 05
Submit and track
Submit it and watch each approval step on the web or the mobile app.
- 06
If it stalls, ask the right person
Give your unit admin the PAR details if it sits too long. For system errors, use 'Create a Case' and keep the case number.
- 07
Do not cancel and redo absences
If you cancel an absence request, you cannot submit a new one for the same dates. Ask your S-1 first.
Why it gets kicked back
- ! Family member info goes in DEERS, not IPPS-A.
- ! Not every HR action is in IPPS-A yet. Ask your unit admin if you cannot find yours.
- ! IPPS-A can run slow during annual updates.
- ! Old guides that show DS Logon for IPPS-A are out of date. Use myAuth.
