Filmed on the live system with a CAC, every name and number swapped for a test Soldier before recording.

Step by step

  1. 01

    Pick one option

There are two phone options. Intune MAM puts the real Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Word, Excel and PowerPoint apps on your phone. The Army launched it in May 2025. Hypori is a separate virtual Army phone that runs inside one app.

Signing up for MAM limits the Microsoft apps inside Hypori. Pick one and stick with it.

  2. 02

    Check your phone

MAM works on Apple, Samsung and Google Pixel phones. If you have a different phone, use Hypori.

  3. 03

MAM: find the Army 365 MAM page

On a computer with your CAC, open the Army 365 home page and search 'MAM'. The setup needs a NIPR (Army network) connection, so a work computer at your Reserve Center is the easy place to start.

  4. 04

MAM: sign in on your phone

Follow the steps on the MAM page. Then install Outlook and Teams from your app store and sign in with your @army.mil address.

  5. 05

    Hypori: install the apps

Install the Mobile Connect app and the Hypori Client app on your phone.

  6. 06

Hypori: enroll from a CAC computer

On a computer with your CAC, open the Army Hypori enrollment page (aka.ms/rcwpenrollment). In Mobile Connect, choose Scan and scan the QR code on the screen.

  7. 07

    Hypori: finish the setup emails

The Army's 2024 setup slides say to expect three emails in 1 to 3 business days. Set up Mobile Connect, then the Hypori Client, then finish PureBred (your phone credential) and email inside Hypori.

    Stuck? Call the help desk

Call the Army Enterprise Service Desk Worldwide (AESD-W) at 866-335-2769. Ask for help with BYOD.

Why it gets kicked back

  • ! Old guides say Hypori is the only phone option. That changed when MAM launched in May 2025.
  • ! MAM is for phones and tablets. On a home computer, use Army 365 in the browser or Azure Virtual Desktop.
  • ! With MAM, the Army protects only the Army apps and data. It does not collect personal data from your phone.
  • ! If you have two Army accounts, such as military and civilian, you enroll in Hypori once for each.
  • ! Old @mail.mil addresses are now @army.mil.
