Walkthrough video in production
Real screen, real clicks, fake Soldier. Until it is up, the written steps below are the walkthrough.
- Script
- Voice
- Real-screen capture
- Published
Filmed on the live system with a CAC, every name and number swapped for a test Soldier before recording.
Step by step
- 01
Log in to myPay
Use your CAC, or your myPay Login ID and password with a one-time code or an authenticator app.
Forgot your password? Reset it by answering 3 of your 8 security questions.
- 02
Find your LES
Open your LES list. Reserve LESs post a few days before payday, on the DFAS payday calendar.
- 03
Find your drills
Check that each drill you did is listed and paid. One drill pays one day of basic pay.
- 04
Know the Reserve differences
Reservists do not have allotments. Fields 23 and 24 are not used on a Reserve LES.
- 05
Check the rate
Drill pay depends on your rank and years of service. The 2026 pay tables include a 3.8% raise.
- 06
Look for surprise deductions
Watch for deductions you do not know, like SGLI. Unpaid SGLI premiums can build into a debt during months you are not paid.
- 07
Save a copy
Download each LES and keep it. A debt waiver asks for your LESs.
Why it gets kicked back
- ! Retirement points are not on the LES. Check them in IPPS-A.
- ! If you are leaving the Reserve, set up a myPay login and password before you lose your CAC.
- ! There is no sign that myPay moved to Login.gov. It still has its own login.
