On a TDY trip the Army pays a set amount each day for your hotel and your meals. Put in the local rates and the number of days to see the total.

Look up the city you are going to on the GSA per diem page. We filled in the FY2027 standard rate ($113.00 lodging, $68.00 M&IE) for places without their own rate.

How this works

Per diem is a daily amount for your hotel and your meals while you are on TDY (temporary duty) away from home.
Lodging is paid for each night you stay, up to the local rate. The last day has no hotel night. Keep your hotel receipt.
Meals and incidentals (M&IE) are a flat daily amount. You get 75% on the day you leave and the day you come home, and the full rate on the days in between.
Hotel taxes in the US are paid on top of the lodging rate. They are not in this estimate.
Drill (IDT) travel is different. You claim what you really spent on meals. Use the IDT travel calculator for that.

Rates: GSA per diem rates (FY2027 standard rate from GSA’s FY2027 highlights). Rules: JTR (June 2025). Overseas, Alaska and Hawaii rates come from DTMO, not GSA.
