IDT travel claim

If you live 150 miles or more from drill, the Army may pay back what you spend to get there, up to $750 a round trip. Put in your costs to see a rough number.

Rates as of 2026-10-18.

This is an estimate. DTS and the JTR decide the real amount. Nothing you type here leaves your browser.

Your trip

You need to live at least 150 miles from drill, one way, to qualify.

How you get there
Driving to drill

Driving from home to drill pays the "other" mileage rate.

Tolls
Meals

You get back what you really spent on meals, but only on travel days, and only up to the local daily rate. Look up your rate on the GSA per diem page.

Lodging on the way

Only for a night on the road that the unit did not give you. If the unit gives you a room at drill, you must use it.
